Did we miss someone? We're always excited to discover emerging and established Black designers making waves in the luxury space. If you know of anyone who should be featured here, please fill out the form below. Self-nominations are welcome.

Here’s what we look for:

    1. Identity: Must be a Black designer, or if a duo or collective, at least 50% of members must identify as Black.
    2. Reputation: Recognized and respected within the luxury market.
    3. Acclaim: Featured in reputable, non-sponsored publications like Vogue, Harper's Bazaar, or Elle.
    4. Brand Identity: Clear, compelling storytelling and aesthetics, with strong luxury-aligned imagery.
    5. Materials & Craftsmanship: Products made with premium materials like fine leathers or luxury fabrics, reflecting the quality expected in luxury.
    6. Timeless Appeal: Designs that transcend trends and ensure longevity.
    7. Pricing: Positioned within a luxury price range.
    8. Online Presence: Active online presence with a professional website and engaging social media.
    9. E-Commerce: A functional online store for direct consumer purchases.
    10. Retail Partnerships: Ideally partnered with retailers like Net-A-Porter, Moda Operandi, or Nordstrom, except if operating as a fully DTC brand.
    11. Global Appeal: Demonstrates or aspires to a global reach, resonating with luxury consumers worldwide.
    12. Industry Recognition: Awards, nominations, or collaborations with respected figures or institutions in fashion or luxury.
    13. Customer Experience: Known for exceptional service and care.
    14. Ratings and Reviews: High-quality products reflected by online ratings, ideally 4.6 or higher

Please note that nomination does not guarantee inclusion and not every designer nominated will be added. Our mission is to celebrate truly exceptional Black designers who are pushing boundaries and elevating the luxury space; a space that has historically been exclusive and unwelcoming.

To maintain the credibility of this platform, every designer featured must meet the minimum qualifications we’ve outlined above.

Nominations will first be reviewed by our team and then by our Advisory Board. To validate product quality, sample pieces may be requested as part of the review process; these will be returned upon completion of the evaluation.

This site is not meant to be a comprehensive directory of every Black-owned brand but a curated selection of designers excelling at the highest levels of luxury. We deeply respect and value platforms that champion Black designers across all pricing tiers as every exemplary Black designer deserves recognition. Our mission is specific to spotlighting Black designers in the luxury space, a sector where they have historically been excluded, even when their work is as exceptional as that of heritage luxury brands. 

We are rigorous about who we include because those who visit this site to discover Black luxury designers rely on us to showcase brands that meet these standards and can compete in product quality with heritage brands.
