Sarah Diouf is the founder and creative director of Tongoro, a pioneering African fashion brand that celebrates bold, contemporary design and local craftsmanship. Born to Senegalese, Congolese, and Central African parents and raised in Côte d'Ivoire, Diouf draws on her rich multicultural heritage to create pieces that seamlessly blend tradition and modernity. Educated in Paris, she launched her career by founding Ghubar and NOIR, platforms dedicated to promoting African and Black culture in fashion and art.
In 2016, she established Tongoro in Dakar, Senegal, with a mission to redefine African luxury through sustainability and ethical production. By working with local artisans and sourcing materials from within West Africa, Diouf not only creates unique, high-quality designs but also fosters economic development in the region. Tongoro has earned international acclaim, with icons like Beyoncé, Naomi Campbell, and Alicia Keys showcasing the brand.
